Well, its the end of the day and I didn't accomplish as much as I wanted to. I decided to fix myself a "spicy red beer" and blog for a few minutes instead of doing one more chore that I could dutifully cross off my "to do" list.
Most of you know that my dad has alzhiemers and my mom is now having to learn to fend for herself but she has a neighbor that has been a "god sent" to her and my dad. Unfortunately, he is not mechanically minded....oh lets say.....LIKE MY HUSBAND! The neighbor definitely lacks talent in the "handyman department". Recently, he wired my parents sprinkler pump completely wrong even to the point of being potentially hazard to all who came in contact with it.
Now, you all know that my husband Mike is an extremely hard working man and between all the "honey do's" I bestow upon him, the railroad and the truckwash the dude stays super busy therefore, my mother hates to bother him when his services are needed but what she doesnt realize is that Mike always ends up having to come over to fix the repair job that was botched the first time. I believe there is a moral to this story, Mother!
I am very proud of Michael when he told my mom, "I learned a great deal from Norman in my younger years, now its time for me to give back".
It's HELL getting old but what's even worse, seeing our folks growing old and becoming inflicted with sicknesses, crippling ailments and horrible diseases! It's hard knowing that in due time Michael and I will have to step in and become our parents "parents" (visions of the Loin King and the music playing in my head as they present Simba to the kingdom) its all part of the cycle of life!!!
** Please God, grants us the Wisdom of Solomon, the Patience of Job and the Bravery & Strength of David**
AMEN
loved this post Amie :)
